The Bauherrenunterstützung (BHU) at ASTRA supports the client in technical, organisational and administrative matters in the planning and realisation of national road projects. It assumes coordinating and advisory tasks throughout all project phases and ensures that the interests of ASTRA are represented vis-à-vis planners, contractors, authorities and other project participants. Central tasks include, in particular, project coordination, schedule and cost monitoring, quality assurance, support in tenders and awards, as well as the review of project documents and expert reports. Furthermore, the BHU coordinates the cooperation between the various specialist planners and supports the project or site management of ASTRA in technical, organisational and strategic issues. It also ensures that applicable standards, guidelines and ASTRA specifications are complied with and thus contributes significantly to an efficient and successful project implementation.
