The municipality of Het Hogeland is taking the next step in the development of the Ontwikkelplein: a modern and future-proof location where residents can learn, work, develop and meet each other. With this project, the municipality is investing in opportunities for everyone to participate in society. The current property of the Ontwikkelplein no longer meets the technical and functional requirements of today. The buildings suffer from deferred maintenance, poor insulation and non-OSH compliant conditions, making renovation unfeasible. This hinders further development and poses a risk to the continuity of service provision. Therefore, a choice has been made for (re)construction on a location within the planning area at the Nijverheidsweg and Industrieweg in Uithuizen.
