Köln Verkehrs-Betriebe AG are fundamentally modernising the Busbetriebshof Nord in the 2nd construction phase to enable the complete electrification of the fleet by 2030. The core is the adaptation of the parking concept: In the future, buses will be parked in parking blocks with steel crossbars for charging hoods. The charging infrastructure will be bundled in an elevated technical corridor. The traffic areas and the surface drainage will be completely renewed. The washing hall will be fundamentally renovated for use by electric buses and equipped with a work pit. In addition, the workshop will be expanded by seven workstations and the driver's building will be energetically renovated and expanded by a two-storey extension. The existing spare parts warehouse will be modernised and equipped with new equipment. All measures will be implemented while maintaining bus and workshop operations. The tendered services include civil engineering and marking work in connection with the preparation of the construction site set-up areas as well as the provision of construction power and water supply for the construction measure. Another focus of the services is the delivery, assembly, maintenance and dismantling of container systems over a period of approximately 41 months.
