For the reception building of Kaiserslautern Hauptbahnhof, a comprehensive modernisation is planned to ensure the long-term preservation of the building substance and improvement of usability. Due to numerous structural and technical defects, particularly the facade, supporting structure, roof surfaces and interior areas will be renovated, and moisture and corrosion damage will be remedied. Furthermore, the project includes the modernisation of the building's technical equipment, the energetic optimisation of the building, the renewal of windows, doors and lighting, as well as measures to improve accessibility and quality of stay. Additionally, waiting and rental areas will be functionally and aesthetically upgraded to ensure sustainable use and long-term rentability.
