Germany – Canal construction – Projekt Umbau Btf. Nord 2. BA - VE502 Kanalbau
Description
Kölner Verkehrs-Betriebe AG is fundamentally modernising the Busbetriebshof Nord in the 2nd construction phase to enable the complete electrification of the fleet by 2030. The core is the adaptation of the parking concept: In the future, buses will be parked in parking blocks with steel crossbars for charging hoods. The charging infrastructure will be bundled in a raised technical aisle. The traffic areas as well as the surface water drainage will be completely renewed. The washing hall will be fundamentally renovated for use by electric buses and equipped with a work pit. In addition, the workshop will be expanded by seven workstations and the driver's building will be energetically renovated and expanded by a two-storey extension. The existing spare parts warehouse will be modernised and equipped with new equipment. The implementation of all measures will be carried out while maintaining bus and workshop operations. The scope of services of this tender is divided into the following trades: Earthworks include the creation of trench excavations (built-up and unbuilt, up to 5.00 m depth) as well as excavation pits (up to approx. 5.50 m below ground level, inter alia in the area of the rainwater treatment plant), in each case including loosening, loading and interim storage of the excavated material. Soil investigations according to EBV as well as subgrade and bearing capacity proofs are to be provided. The backfilling will be carried out in layers with suitable sand/ gravel - sand 0/8 mm in the conduit zone as well as with permissible backfill material or delivered replacement material in the main backfill; a temporary bearing layer is to be installed. Shoring works include trench shoring as well as sheet pile shoring for the deeper areas. Drainage canal works form the core of the measure. The complete renewal and adaptation of the rainwater drainage (including rainwater treatment plant) as well as the sewer is tendered, including pipe laying, fittings, shaft structures and connections. The connecting lines to the planned road outlets are part of the drainage canal works. These will be constructed according to the drawing documents up to the area of the temporary bearing layer or up to the later connection point of the new road outlets. The pipe ends are to be surveyed for position and elevation, documented and provisionally closed in a professionally sound manner until the later installation or connection of the road outlets. The final connection to the new road outlets will be carried out as part of the later road construction/ surface works. The temporary surface drainage must be ensured throughout the entire construction period. Existing road outlets are to be kept in operation, as far as technically possible and compatible with the construction schedule, until the new drainage facilities are completed. If existing road outlets are taken out of operation during the construction work or replaced by new connecting lines, these must be provisionally connected or replaced by suitable temporary measures if necessary. For this purpose, for example, provisional pipe connections, temporary channels, hose lines or pumping measures may be required. Uncontrolled discharge of surface water into excavation pits, trenches, traffic areas or operational areas must be avoided. The temporary drainage must be adapted according to the progress of the construction work and coordinated with the construction supervision. The final drainage will be carried out after the completion of the new road outlets and the later road construction/ surface works. Pipe protection, control and testing include visual inspections (camera inspection, molting of the empty pipes), tightness tests as well as metrological surveying of the installed systems in the open excavation pit. Demolition and dismantling works include surface demolitions (pavements, fixings) as well as the dismantling of existing pipes and structures. Documentation includes photographic documentation, as-built drawings (hand-revised for acceptance) as well as the complete trade-specific object documentation (proofs, test certificates, disposal certificates). A special feature of the measure is the execution under ongoing operation. The canal construction work will be carried out in sections with continuous active bus and workshop operation on the site. Throughout the construction period, intensive shunting, workshop and employee traffic must be expected. The work will be carried out according to VOB as well as the relevant DIN standards (e.g. DIN 18300, DIN 4124, DIN EN 1610, DWA-A 139).
