The construction project involves a new school building to be erected, which is classified as a special type of building or use (special structure). The building is classified under building class 5. The building is planned as a hybrid timber construction, with only the components serving horizontal bracing being planned in reinforced concrete. The timber structure is planned as a skeleton construction and the floor slabs as a timber rib construction, consisting of main beams running in the east-west direction and a cross-laminated timber deck. Adjacent to the construction site, there is already a school consisting of a main building, pavilions, canteen/Ottoneum and sports hall. The aged ensemble will be abandoned and replaced by the new building on the construction site adjacent to the east of the school. The existing sports hall, the canteen and the so-called Ottoneum (music pavilion) will be renovated and integrated into the overall concept.
