Description
The Norwegian Sea Technology Centre includes both Sintef's research activities and the teaching and research activities of NTNU within marine engineering. The centre shall be one of the world's most advanced facilities for research and education and it will be the new national knowledge centre for ocean space technology. With a world-leading research and teaching infrastructure on the possibilities in ocean space, the centre shall secure value creation for Norway through competitive ocean space industries and contribute to the green transformation. The project ́s cost limit is NOK 10.2 billion (price level in July 2023). The project is one of the largest construction projects that Statsbygg has carried out in Trondheim. The construction project received a start-up grant in the national budget in 2022, and the implementation phase is underway.
