Treatment of inmates with mental health issues – care in a psychiatric inpatient specialist department at Neumünster Prison. In the psychiatric department of Neumünster Prison, the contractor independently, appropriately and in accordance with recognised professional standards, treats up to 21 treatment places of mentally ill adult male prisoners of the state of Schleswig-Holstein. Admissions from other federal states are subject to Section 4.2. The psychiatric department is not a hospital within the meaning of Section 107(1) SGB V. The contractual services are not provided on the basis of SGB V or billed to the statutory health insurance companies. The contractor is responsible for the necessary treatments and the medical-therapeutic-nursing care of the psychiatric department, but not for the custodial operation or building operation, according to the more detailed definition of the scope of services. The contractor must work with the prison management, the responsible prison doctors and the custodial service of JVA Neumünster, according to the more detailed scope of services.
