In the Munich Feldmoching district, the SWM plan to construct new district heating pipelines (Raheinstraße/Herbergstraße and Ratold, Ponkratzstraße) to connect two network areas to the existing network. This will require excavation, pipeline, and specialist foundation work. In total, approximately 215m in DN80 (VL/RL) for the northern crossing and approximately 300m in DN150 (VL/RL) for the southern crossing will be constructed, including fittings, expansion joints, and cable protection pipes. The core service is the crossing of two DB tracks using controlled microtunnelling (DWA A 125) including supervisory activities. For this, start and target pits (approximately 7.8x7.5m or up to 6.55x7.5m or smaller) must be created as vibration-free as possible for each crossing, some of which will be located below the design water level. The drives will be carried out in reinforced concrete protective pipes DN500 (North, each approximately 46m) or DN600 (South, each approximately 69m) including the laying of empty pipes and leak monitoring. In addition, inspection chambers with pump sump and shut-off valves (in the shaft & buried) as well as construction roads must be created. Particular challenges lie in the execution in the railway area under ongoing operations, confined inner-city conditions, sensitive environmental requirements, groundwater conditions, and the coordination of numerous trades and external parties with simultaneously high demands on deformation limitation, vibration protection and construction progress coordination.
