The aim of this project is the development and validation of a practical test catalogue/guideline for the evaluation of the cybersecurity of complex autonomous vehicles at level L4 according to SAE J3016. The focus will be on the novel properties of the complex systems and their novel technologies. These include systems such as AI systems, for example, for perception, planning or sensor fusion, or also end-to-end systems. The interaction between non-AI systems and AI systems will also be examined. At the end of the project, a test guideline or test catalogue will be obtained, which describes how to test complex systems in autonomous vehicles. In addition, tools and methods will be developed that make testing possible. Through an iterative approach, experiences gained with the test catalogue will be incorporated into a new iteration of the test catalogue. Furthermore, through practical evaluation and a Lessons Learned section, it will be ensured that the test catalogue can be used for type approval or support type approval, and generally serves as a reference. Positive feedback from relevant stakeholders (other authorities, in particular BMV, KBA and BASt, automotive industry and technical services) will ensure that the developed methods and concepts (test catalogue, test tools and test process) prove themselves in practice and that tests can be carried out with them.
