The stationary underfloor wheel set turning lathe in the workshop on the Merheim site, Ostmerheimer Straße 553, 51109 Cologne, is to be replaced. The facility was constructed as part of the workshop new build in 1994. Through regular maintenance and repair work, the facility has been kept in operation for over 31 years. In the following year, the stationary underfloor wheel set turning lathe in the workshop on the West site, Scheidtweilerstraße 38, 50933 Cologne, is to be replaced. The facility is from 1985 and was last renovated in 2006. With the two new acquisitions, the availability of the facilities for the coming years is to be improved, the facilities are to be brought up to the latest state of the art, the availability of spare parts is to be increased, and future vehicle types are also to be usable.
