Norddjurs Municipality has continuously worked on climate adaptation over the past 10 years, focusing on handling inland water, groundwater near the surface, storm surges, and permanent sea-level rise. In December 2023, Norddjurs Municipality received a grant of 12.2 million DKK from the Ministry of the Environment's coastal fund. Together with the municipality's own financing, the total budget amounts to 42.05 million DKK. On this basis, a tender was initiated regarding the preparation of, among other things, project proposals and a delimitation note for an environmental assessment (VVM). The purpose of this tender is to appoint a lead consultant who will carry out an environmental assessment of the overall storm surge protection and manage project management, project design, and implementation.
