Switzerland has been awarded the contract for the organisation and implementation of the Special Olympics World Winter Games Switzerland 2029. The Special Olympics World Winter Games, which is the second-largest winter sports event after the Olympic Winter Games, will take place from 10 to 18 March 2029. The event will be held in the regions of Graubünden and Zürich and up to 2,500 athletes with their accompanying support teams from over 100 nations are expected to participate. Before the sporting events, the delegations will experience the so-called Host Town Programme in 100 Swiss municipalities, which aims to facilitate exchange between athletes and the local population and also includes acclimatisation. The Special Olympics World Winter Games Switzerland 2029 Local Organizing Committee (LOCWWG2029) is a non-profit association that assumes full responsibility for the planning and implementation of the World Winter Games Switzerland 2029. As part of the planning process, this tender seeks a service provider who can fully deliver and perform the required contents as described in the scope of services. In the current selective procedure, interested applicants must first submit an application for participation in which suitability must be demonstrated according to the criteria specified in the stage. Applicants whose suitability has been positively assessed will subsequently be invited to submit a corresponding offer. The minimum number of applicants who will be invited to submit an offer is 3, provided that a corresponding number of companies apply and are assessed as suitable.
