The University Hospital Düsseldorf intends to convert and functionally adapt an existing ward into a modern nuclear medicine therapy ward. The background to this measure is the current lack of possibility to carry out nuclear medicine therapies on an inpatient basis at UKD. However, the establishment of its own ward is essential to ensure the existing patient care and to implement future developments in nuclear medicine diagnostics and therapy, particularly in the field of so-called theranostics.
