Belgium – Commissioning of heating installations – Concession de services relative à l'étude, construction avec financement, exploitation (ainsi que la fourniture de chaleur associée) et maintenance d'un réseau de chaleur urbain sur le territoire de la commune de Sambreville

The concession aims to develop a heat network in the municipality of Sambreville. Heat production must enable the valorisation of one or more local thermal energy sources (renewable energy, recovered energy and waste heat). The distributed heat will cover the heating and hot water needs of many public or private buildings located in the area. The heat network will thus serve a wide range of public and private beneficiaries. The project pursues several strategic objectives. It first aims to reduce the local territory's CO₂ emissions by substituting a significant portion of natural gas consumption with local and decarbonised energy. Furthermore, it is part of a circular economy approach, by transforming local waste heat into an energy resource for the residents, businesses and public facilities of Sambreville. Beyond its environmental benefits, the network will provide consumers with an energy source at a more stable cost and less sensitive to energy market fluctuations, while supporting the development of new real estate and public infrastructure projects, as well as job creation in the area.
