The subject of the procurement is the operation of the municipal district heating network of the municipal utility Rheinfelden (Baden). The network currently comprises twelve feeders with a total capacity of approximately 16 MW. The network length is currently 23 km (main line incl. service connections). Approximately 270 customers are expected to be supplied with heat at the contract start. These customers have jointly subscribed to 13,000 kW of capacity. After completion of the ongoing and specifically planned expansion sections, the network length is expected to be 35 km and up to 400 additional potential customers will be reached. The additionally possible subscribed capacity in kW can, depending on sales success, be up to 24 MW by the end of the initial contract period. The expansion plan for the next five years and the expansion potential are attached as Annex 2.4. The subject of the contract includes all technical tasks that ensure the safe, economical, efficient and legally compliant operation of the network and the associated heat generation plants. In addition, the operator is responsible for the end customer sales. Furthermore, he plays a major role in commercial operations management and in developing the strategy as well as the planning of further network expansion.
