The municipal utilities operate 2 different woodchip heating plants, at different locations, which also require different woodchip qualities. The remuneration for the service is based on the generated heat quantities in the biomass boilers (without considering a condensation plant). Forecast heat demand
• Römerstraße:
o Heating period 2026/27: 8,500 MWh
o Heating period 2027/28: 8,500 MWh
• Kant-Gymnasium:
o Heating period 2026/27: 2,000 MWh
o Heating period 2027/28: 2,000 MWh
Total demand: approx. 21,000 MWh. The contract also includes the professional disposal of the resulting ash.
