Under a framework agreement, a contractor is to develop, implement and operate an AI-supported system for the refugee sector that provides low-threshold support to people in the arrival process, promotes their independence and at the same time relieves the staff. The AI system is to be introduced as a pilot project in a refugee accommodation with approximately 1,300 residents. It is assumed that approximately two-thirds of the people will use the application. In the long term, the AWO Kreisverband Berlin-Mitte e.V. has further accommodations as well as mobile counselling, so that it covers approximately 6,500 refugees, of whom again two-thirds can be expected to be users. With the award, the order for the development of the AI system for use in three use cases and with further mandatory functions is placed as a call-off from the framework agreement. Further call-offs for the further development of the AI system can take place - there is no entitlement to further call-offs after the call-off made with the award.
