The Kröpeliner Tor in the Hanseatic and University city of Rostock at Kröpeliner Straße 50 is a prominent individual monument and one of the landmarks of Rostock. The last noteworthy restoration (exterior) was carried out in 1991. After 34 years, damage to the facade is now visible and there are detachments of individual facade fragments. Following initial on-site inspections of the west facade and views from the roof exit, the KOE had to temporarily prohibit the use of the Kröpeliner Tor for reasons of traffic safety and erect a provisional barrier as pedestrian protection. At present, the Kröpeliner Tor is scaffolded all around and covered all around with a tarpaulin. For the further work on the facade and the roof of the Kröpeliner Tor, an examination of the stability of the roof truss and the exterior walls is necessary.
