Maintenance and Development of New eHealth Connectors.

Explanation: The more than 6,000 Wit-Gele Kruis nurses all have a tablet computer with 4G connection. Software that is developed in-house runs on this tablet. This software is called the Electronic Nursing Dossier (EVD). The EVD provides, among other things, the following functionalities for home nurses:

• Intake of a new patient (create dossier, input basic data)

• Consult and manage (round) scheduling

• Consult and manage care to be carried out

• Registration of parameters, observations, scales, …

• Registration of prescriptions

• Communication with nurse colleagues + back office colleagues

• Communication with the patient, caregiver, treating physician, other caregivers,

• Management of specific dossiers such as maternity care, wound care, diabetes, medication, …

• …

The information in and out of the EVD is synchronized with a back office application (consisting of databases + an application) that is used by the WGK back office employees. This specifically concerns the various supporting services working in regional offices spread across Flanders. From the EVD and from the back office, it is necessary to connect to various external services. This ‘connection’ typically takes place via secure web services where information is pushed to or retrieved from government systems. An example is the insurability status of a patient that is retrieved from the health funds. This concerns information about which health fund a patient is affiliated with and what rights to reimbursement the patient has. Wit-Gele Kruis uses a number of ‘central connectors’ to connect to these various (government) services, which make the link between the Wit-Gele Kruis (in-house) software and these external services. These connectors were developed for Wit-Gele Kruis by an external partner. Wit-Gele Kruis is looking for a partner to:

• further maintain the existing connectors,

• implement any changes to the existing connectors,

• provide support on the use of these connectors,

• provide hosting for these connectors,

• possibly develop new connectors.
