On the site at Erich-Schlesinger-Str. 24, the fire and rescue station 1, built in 1983, is being renovated and expanded. The construction measure is divided into four construction phases, with the works in construction phases 0 and 1 largely completed. In the further construction sequence, construction phases 2 (emergency services) and 3 (volunteer fire department and civil protection) are now to be started. The two building parts BA 2 and BA 3 each consist of separate single-storey vehicle halls and adjoining two-storey functional buildings, which accommodate the sanitary, social, rest and office rooms. Building BA 3 has a 3rd floor in the north-east of the building, which houses the training and fitness rooms including ancillary rooms as well as the ventilation centre. Building BA 2 has a 2nd floor on the south side as a technical centre.
