To achieve a uniform execution at the automation level, outdated motors are replaced and protection-based star-delta and step switching are eliminated. In many cases, the motors and/or fans as well as pumps are also replaced. For all non-critical systems, pumps and fans are equipped with EC motors (with integrated commutation unit). For critical systems, asynchronous motors with external frequency converters are used. For HVAC systems, the LE-, LK- and group fan drives are fundamentally replaced, volume flow and pressure measurements are replaced and supplemented (in particular 4-20mA sensors). On behalf of the ERR, the chilled ceiling fan drives and room controls/sensors are replaced with Modbus-capable field devices. The connection of the radiator valves and dew point monitors is made conventionally by means of I/O.
