The objective of the project is to create a framework for the commissioning approval of driverless trams, without the need for individual exemptions through the separate proof of equivalent safety. This involves investigating which technical-functional, safety-related and operational requirements should be regulated for the commissioning of the overall tram system or individual system components, and at which regulatory level these should be anchored.
