Due to rising energy prices, a group of Rotterdam residents are struggling with energy poverty. These residents are increasingly having difficulty paying their energy bills, and they are not always able to make their homes more sustainable to reduce energy consumption. In 2024, 11.1% of Rotterdam residents were affected by energy poverty. With rising energy prices and current inflation, we expect that more Rotterdam residents will need energy-saving measures. Specifically for the Rotterdam Noord area, the contract for energy advisors has been awarded to Rotterdam Inclusief, the labour and human development company of the Municipality of Rotterdam.
