Description

The subject of the procurement is one (1) modern PET radiopharmaceutical injector with consumables. The device is suitable for the operating environment of the clinical physiology and nuclear medicine department at Sairaala Nova in Central Finland. The procured device will automatically dose and inject radiopharmaceuticals used in PET imaging for patients. The device will replace the current PET radiopharmaceutical injector. Sairaala Nova is a modern operating environment where PET imaging is a key part of cancer diagnostics, treatment planning, and monitoring treatment response. PET imaging is also used in the diagnostics of inflammatory diseases and, for example, in the imaging of parathyroid glands. The PET operations are located in modern but spatially limited facilities, which is why the dose preparations of the radiopharmaceutical injector to be procured must be suitable for efficient use in a compact clinical environment and be easily movable and usable as part of the daily patient process. Approximately 1,000 PET examinations are currently performed annually in the unit, over approximately 200 examination days. The number of examinations has increased in recent years, and growth is expected to continue in the future. The procured device must enable the development of operations, an increase in the number of examinations, and the introduction of new radiopharmaceuticals without the equipment becoming a bottleneck in operations. The radiopharmaceutical injector must be suitable for the automatic and programmed dosing and injection of at least the most common PET radiopharmaceuticals, such as 18F-FDG, 18F-PSMA, and 18F-Fluorocholine. The device must enable safe, reliable, and efficient work so that the radiation exposure of both staff and patients is minimized. The procured equipment must support smooth clinical workflows and enable the increase of examination capacity according to future needs. The features of the device must support a digital and as automated as possible operating model. The radiopharmaceutical injector must be connectable to the hospital's information and network environment and enable the electronic handling of examination and dosing data. The device must meet all current regulatory requirements for healthcare devices and be a CE-marked medical device. One (1) supplier will be selected as the contract partner. A procurement contract will be concluded for the supply of consumables, which will be in force for a fixed term of two (2) years and will continue indefinitely after the fixed-term contract period.
