For each cruise call, gangways must be placed. The task involves placing, moving, or removing these gangways (owned by PoAB) with the correct material. The gangways of the cruise terminal must be moved to the quay using a forklift or truck, depending on the type of gangway. The telescopic crane is used to couple and uncouple the gangway to and from the ship. During the stay, the gangways sometimes need to be moved depending on the tide. No intervention is provided by PoAB to supervise the lifting operations. The service provider must provide sufficient riggers depending on the weather conditions. The crane operator must be Dutch-speaking and in possession of the necessary certificates according to Belgian legislation. The hours are both day and night, weekends, Sundays, and public holidays. The crane operator remains present on the quay for the entire duration of the call.
