The favourable location of the city of Puchheim near the state capital Munich also leads to a tense housing market situation, making it difficult for many people to find affordable housing. The city of Puchheim therefore wishes to develop a residential area for approximately 350 residents (target size) on a 2.35 ha, previously undeveloped plot of land on the northern edge of the Puchheim-Bahnhof district. In addition to multi-storey residential buildings, a day-care centre to meet the needs of the new district and above-ground district garages for the accommodation of the required car parking spaces are to be planned. The new development is to blend harmoniously with the surrounding structures despite the desired higher density. _____ Overall, the development of a sustainable and future-proof district is desired. By concentrating the car parking spaces predominantly in district garages, the residential area can be largely car-free, with a diverse mobility offer and good permeability for pedestrian and cycle traffic. Climate resilience is to be ensured through a combination of different measures such as ventilation, greening, water management and a low degree of sealing. In addition, spaces for encounters and social interaction are to be created in the new district. _____ In the ideas section of the competition, an integrated proposal is to be developed for the largely undeveloped private plots of land, with a total size of 1.16 ha, adjacent to the new building area on the south side of the Alpenstraße. The new development is to create a harmonious transition to the existing stock and have a meaningful development. _____ With the present competition, the contracting entity expects, for the planned district development, design, functional and economically convincing solutions that bring a high quality of living in the interior and exterior spaces in line with the planned density.
