The Rhein-Kreis Neuss intends to renovate and expand the Michael-Ende-Schule in Neuss, including energy-efficient refurbishment. A feasibility study is available. The Rhein-Kreis Neuss is seeking suitable contractors to undertake the necessary architectural and engineering services. The required services will be tendered separately in the following lots:

The implementation of the measures will be accompanied by an external project manager. With this procedure, the services for Lot 4 are being tendered:

Lot 4: Landscape Design

The Michael-Ende-Schule is a special needs school focusing on language and currently serves as a learning center for 195 students. The primary school consists of three sections affected by the implementation of the measures: a new building housing the open all-day school (OGS) and the canteen, an older school building with classrooms, and an administrative wing. Starting in the 2025/26 school year, there will be a legal entitlement to a place in full-day care for primary school children. For the year 2029, a student population of 212, distributed across 17 classes, is projected. The construction project aims not only to provide sufficient classrooms but also to improve the currently spatially constrained situation of the school administration. To this end, the existing administrative building will be demolished and replaced by a new structure. The new building will adopt the existing structure of the circulation route and expand it with adjoining rooms. The gross floor area is approximately 3,400 m². Starting in the 2026/27 school year, school operations will be relocated to another school building. The planning of the interim solution and the move will be handled by the contracting authority and are therefore not part of the contractor's scope of services. The entire project must be completed by 30 September 2029. In the course of executing the construction services, it may be necessary to create various construction phases. The planning and implementation of the measure must comply with the demanding grant requirements. To maintain eligibility for funding, detailed evidence must be provided. As part of the optimization of the classrooms and common areas, the existing building will be energetically renovated.
