Poland – Construction work – Poprawa bezpieczeństwa powodziowego m. Dęblin

The subject of the order is the expansion of the right anti-flood embankment of the Wieprz River on the section in the new embankment kilometrage at km 0+000 ÷ 5+677, as part of the investment project entitled "Improvement of the flood safety of Dęblin". The embankment protects the Dęblin-Masów valley located between the Dęblin Airport and the railway bridge on the estuary section to the Vistula. This area is inhabited by approximately 4,000 residents. At risk from flooding are residential, commercial, public utility and road infrastructure buildings, especially the military facilities of the Dęblin Military Air Base. The area protected by anti-flood embankments is approximately 10.8 km2. The awarding of the order is purposeful and justified by the necessity to carry out actions necessary for the preparation and implementation of the investment, which will contribute to the reduction of flood risk and the decrease of potential social, economic and environmental losses. The implementation of the order is a condition for achieving the intended effects of the project and for the implementation of the tasks of PGW Wody Polskie in the field of flood protection. The task is planned to be financed from the budget of the state at the disposal of the Minister of Infrastructure and from the funds of the European Union within the framework of the programme European Funds for Infrastructure, Climate, Environment 2021–2027 (FEnIKS).
